It consists of 4 circular salts, 1 lidded circular mustard pot, 2 cylindrical peppers, 4 salt spoons and 1 mustard spoon. The circular salts are very decorative with an embossed swirl pattern to the base of the bodies and then towards the top a raised gadrooned pattern and have overhanging fluted wavy rims. They originally had gilt linings to the interiors, but this has now faded leaving just a slight golden glow. The hinged mustard has the same decoration as the salts, with the lid also having an embossed swirl pattern to the slightly domed centre and a tall finial. It has a plain handle and comes with its blue glass liner. The cylindrical peppers again have the same pattern to the other pieces with twist off lids which have the swirl pattern to them and tall finials. They have raised circular bases. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks. All the spoons have gilt bowls with the Old English pattern to the back of the handles. This beautiful set comes complete in its original shaped box which has a lovely deep blue velour material to the inside where the cruet sits. All the pieces have the same hallmarks except for the mustard, but is in exactly the same pattern as the rest of the pieces. hallmarked  CHESTER the mustard BIRMINGHAM All 1901/02, the mustard 1894/95. Condition: Each item is in very good condition (apart from the fading of the gilt interiors to the salts). The box is in lovely condition inside, except that the little elastic spoon holders are a little bit loose and are stretched. The outside just has very slight wear to the outer covering to the base rim, but this is extremely minor

This really is a super antique solid silver Victorian 7 piece and 5 spoon boxed cruet set that would look impressive on any table. Keep it in the family and pass down through future generations where it will appreciate in value. If you could bear to part with it, then it would make a beautiful Silver Wedding present for that special couple. It is also a little bit more special having the less common Chester hallmark

Silver Spoons Newly Listed

6-Silver-Gilt-Flower-Enamel-Spoons-IMG_66256 Silver Gilt Flower Enamel Spoons. The bowls are extrememly pretty having a pearly white enamel background with enamelled orange flowers that have yellow centres, surrounded by green leaves and brown stems. The backs of the bowls are completely plain. They have Art Deco shaped terminals and a lined pattern to both sides of the handles. They do come in a black box but I cannot confirm if this is the original. Although they have the same Assay Office, and makers, they do have slightly different date letters, but I can confirm that the spoons are exactly the same. Stock Number 4563
