Mappin And Webb Silver Spoon And Pusher in a blue case hallmarked Sheffield 1957 and offered for sale by Silver2treasure. Each have a loop handle with a lined decoration running around the outline and having an “x” in the middle on each side.  At the top curve on each piece is an embossed swirl pattern.  They are made from a good guage of silver and have clear hallmarks.  They come in their original blue fitted box which is stamped on the material in the inside of the lid with the Mappin & Webb stamp.   The Spoon is 3.25 inches long in total, the bowl 1.75 long and 1.25 inches wide.  The Pusher is 2 inches long in total and the actual pusher is 2 inches wide and 0.5 inch in depth.  The total weight of silver is 55g. Each item is in very good condition and so too is the box inside with just a little bit of wear to the outside covering at the edges, but this is very minor.  A very nice boxed solid silver pusher and spoon and an ideal very useable Christening present

Silver Spoon & Bowl Christening Set

Silver Christening Spoon & Bowl Hallmarked Birmingham 1919 offered for sale by Silver2treasure.

This is a lovely Cased Solid Silver Christening Bowl & Spoon. The circular bowl is very plain with a raised pedestal base and an ideal size for infant food. The spoon is teaspoon size and again is very plain apart from having the Old English pattern to the back of the handle. Both the bowl and the spoon are made from a good guage of silver and both have clear hallmarks. The spoon has the same makers mark as the bowl but it has a date leter of "u" where the bowl has a "t" and the recess for the spoon in the box is a little larger. This set comes complete in its original box

Dimensions: Bowl 4 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. The spoon is 5 inches long in total, the bowl being 1.5 inches long and 1 inch wide at its widest point. The total weight of silver is 110g

Condition: Both the bowl and the spoon are in very good condition. The box too is in very good condition inside and out

Remarks: This really is a lovely boxed solid silver christening bowl and spoon that could be handed down through future generations.
