Antique Victorian Silver Salt Spoons Hallmarked Birmingham 1869

Antique Victorian Silver Salt Spoons Hallmarked Birmingham 1869 offered for sale by Silver2treasure. You can purchase these items through the picture link at the foot of this post.

They are of a good size and I can best describe them as having a French look to them, with a decorative engraved pattern to the front of the handles and ornate pointed terminals (the backs are plain). They have oval shaped bowls. The terminals do have engraved fancy letters which I think are "MEW". They are made from a good guage of silver and have clear marks. Silver Makers Marks: G.U (George Unite & Sons) They are 3.25 inches long in total, the bowls being 0.5 inch long and 1 inch wide. They weigh a total of 13g.  They are in very good condition

Antique Silver Exeter Salt Spoon

Antique Silver Exeter Salt Spoon Hallmarked for 1830 by Owen Fielding offered for sale by Silver2treasure. It has a fiddle pattern shape handle with the Old English pattern to the back. It has clear hallmarks for Exeter but it was made by the Plymouth Silversmith Owen Fielding, which makes it quite rare.

You can check to see if it is still for sale by clicking this link where you can see multiple pictures  Large Antique Silver Exeter Salt Spoon

It measures 4 inches long in total, the bowl just over 1 inch wide and just under 1 inch in depth. It weighs 9g

Bearing in mind it's 181 years of age, it is in very good condition, with just 2 little pin pricks dings to the underside of the bowl, and some light surface scratching which is only to be expected on a metal item and is commensurate with age and use.  A very good antique solid silver large salt spoon, ideal for use with a large silver salt, and with the rare Plymouth makers mark, a must for any collector

Antique and vintage silver by its very nature has been previously used. Silver is a comparatively soft metal and a combination of many years use invariably leaves its mark. I do endeavour to describe all items accurately but do not expect any antique to be in "as new condition".
